He did it again, and again...

This past weekend my nephew Jonah was invited to play in a baseball tournament in Delaware. Last year Jonah also played at this tournament called "Sports at the Beach" and that weekend he hit a couple homers (one over 330 feet). Well Saturday, I had the joy of attending and watching him hit another home run. It was about 310-315 feet down the line. Then on Sunday, I am told he hit yet another home run over 320 feet... I could get used this! Nice job slugger! Keep up the hard work!!!

Sorry this picture is a little blurry, but you can trace the ball off the bat if you look in the left hand side of the picture, you can see the ball line going out...
Here is a few other shots that I got... Please feel free to leave any comments!!!
He must love this place.
Getting ready to crank that ball!!!

Winter Blues...

I have come to the decision that I hate February! Nothing personal against the month or those whose birthday happens to fall in the month of February.
My problem with this time of the year is simply this:
It isn't spring yet!
I am a baseball fan and that means that it is spring training!
Today is the official day of Catchers and Pitchers reporting to SPRING training.
I just really like the fact that the daylight is getting longer, the warmth, and that everything starts to become green again. So once I get past February then I know that winter is ending.
The problem around here (Baltimore, Maryland) is that
we have gotten a million inches of snow and it isn't melting fast enough.
I guess I will just have to have some patience and in the mean time
I think I will dream about the SPRING.
Below are some photos of my nephew who is attempting make the USA Jr Olympic Baseball team. He is pretty great, of course I am bias!

PS. I should feel blessed though because when I lived in Buffalo there wasn't a season known as spring.

6 for the Kid.

I AM HUGE BASEBALL FAN...

But I am a bigger Jonah Heim fan. That is my nephew who is currently trying out for the USA Jr. Olympic baseball team. Jonah has made it to the top 120 tryouts in the United States (which is amazing to me). My nephew is 6'0 or 6'1 switching hitting catcher. Man, I could watch him play baseball all day. He doesn't get a big head or ahead of himself. Actually I am pretty sure he remembers more of failures than HRs, HITS, and his awesome ability to call and catch a game. Trust me the positives far out weigh the letdowns.

BUT, the real reason why I am a Jonah Heim fan is because of this picture.

This is his jersey for tryouts. He specifically asked for the number 6 in honor of his pop's. See that was/is my dad's birthday. I know that my dad is able to see this and it brings a smile to his face... Thanks Jonah for keeping level head and realizing what is truly important. Good luck buddy!
