Sunrise or Sunset?

" Early in the morning I'd like to rise and spend a little time in quiet, creeping through the shutters falling on my wife, the sun is calling me to shine... Early in the morning, time still flies. Minutes, hours, lost as treasures. My tiny baby's breathing deeper every day, soon she'll leave her crib forever." (Early in the Morning by Andrew Osenga)
When I was a freshmen in Bible College a couple friends of mine and I got up early in the morning to watch the sunrise and we spent the rest of the cold upstate NY spring day, playing and not having a care in the world. We ended the day watching the sunset. Honestly, it was one the best days of my life. I will never forget it!

Well, this past Friday night and Saturday morning I was able to do it again expect it was backwards. First the sunset and the sunrise... This kinda got me thinking about a couple questions. Am I a sunrise or sunset kinda person? Not am I night owl or morning dove. That is easy... I am completely 100% a night owl.

What I mean is...

with a sunrise comes this kinda of expectancy or hope of God doing something great. Almost like you are looking forward to amazing things that God is going to do throughout the day. I kinda think sunrises are full of hope.

with a sunset comes an opportunity to see God's faithfulness, how and where He came through. I kinda think sunsets are full of faith or for reinsurance of our faith.

In the song that I quoted... The author ends the song with these beautiful words...
"so let us not take this granted, let us not waste the second hand.
But let your love rage like a lion and let your heart break like a lamb"
I know that I should be both full of Hope and Faith... God, please help me!
I hope you enjoy these photos. I took them of St. Mary's Lake on University of Notre Dame Campus...

BEAUTY

I don't know what it is about sun. It is beautiful in the rising and falling. God truely knew what He was doing when created the Earth so perfectly close to this star. I can only imagine what the sunrise and sunset looked like before "the fall". I think that the sun reminds me of God.
Mostly of His faithfulness. Even if you can't see the sun in the midst of the cloud cover. IT is there. It is the same with God; in the midst of our worst of times, even if we can't "see" Him.
He is there being faithful to us....
Anyway, here are some shots that I have taken recently of the sunrise and sunsets.

Thanks for Reading

Storms!!!!

Yesterday at 4:50pm lighting struck and poof we were out of power at work. I wasn't complaining! I mean I got to go home a little early. Actually, I waited it out a little bit first. I got some photos... Which have gotten me to thinking... I wonder how many times I have complained to God about storms in my life? Well, last night I realized something...

When a storm comes (natural or spiritual) there is a reason... It could be as simple as everything around needs water or it could be that God wants me to stop and enjoy His might and power. (When I was a teenager my best friend and I used to sit and eat a bowl of cereal while we watched thunder storms... MAN LIFE WAS EASY BACK THEN)

Sometimes He might want me to wait out the storm... There are plenty of reasons why God allows a storm to come. Yesterday, I felt like God opened my heart to remember a lesson that I had learned when I was younger. He is always in control and has a plan. God doesn't divert from the plan and "isn't shocked off of His throne" when things aren't going according to my plans.
Even if I can't figure out why something happens. He has His reasons...

I may not ever know the reason why God allows a storm to come... He may never explain it to me why He does the things He does and really He doesn't need too (otherwise He wouldn't be Lord). The coolest part about yesterday was that I got to see God's might and glory at work... Below are some shots... Thanks for reading

This is the storm developing

It got dark in a hurry!

This is hail that came falling onto our cars...

This is part that I waited out... Those suckers hurt!

I took this shot when I got home...
