Baseball...

So I am a huge Yankees Fan. I remember talking with pop (my dad) about the Yankees and how he grew up watching, routing and falling in love with players like Mickey Mantel or Roger Maris.

(Better known as the M&Ms boys..)

My dad told me stories of Babe Ruth

Jumping Joe DiMaggio (my favorite Yankee) and Yogi .

There were stories of Don Larsen, and Whitey Ford.

So I grew up a Yankee fan as well. This weekend will be the first of a wonderful/treacherous weekend. You see the Yankees and Red sox are about to square off for the first of 18 times this season. To me this is what Baseball was invited for.

From The Babe and the curse, to Bucky Dent, REGGIE, REGGIE (Reggie Jackson)... Pedro and Don Zimmer, Aaron Boone and Curt Schilling and the bloody sock to the "biggest comeback in playoff history" and breaking the "86 year curse."

The biggest rivalry in sports is about to take off this weekend. I have no idea what is going to happen or even if it will be good baseball. I know that I will still be held captive and try to watch as much as possible. This weekend is why I love this game baseball so much. I have learned it from my dad (who was my brother and my first little league coach.) I am sure my dad (Poppa) is the reason why my nephew Jonah loves baseball. We have THE YANKEES in our blood and I am so thankful for it. I look forward to passing my love for this game until my children.

Madi isn't old enough to enjoy baseball so that's why she isn't in any of the photos

Abby already knows who my favorite player is... "DEREK JETHER" as she says it.

I just hope I enjoy the games this weekend!

Pirates and Digging for TREASURE!!!

Abby and I have a new fun activity!!!. Let me set the story for you...

On Saturday while Mom was shopping, Abby told me that she wanted to play in the backyard. I asked her "what do u want to do?"

I was sure that she would tell me that she would want to look for more worms. But to my surprise she said " we are pirates and we need to look for buried treasure."
So off we went to look for treasure!

First I made up a map of our backyard - Which I think turned out pretty nicely!

Second, I went and actually buried something. This time it was a white shinny rock. (next time i think i will try real treasure)

Then I handed Abby the map and wanted to see if she could find where the treasure was buried.

She ended up at the pond... Not too bad for a 3 year old.

We dug up the rock and then we went "hunting for worms" It was a pretty good day.

I am realizing that Abby is getting my super imagination. (When I was little my family called me "space cadet" cause I was always in a cape and off to space.) Thanks for Reading

Worms, Dirt, and exploding Mac & Cheese... (Must be Daddy's turn to watch the Girls)

Alright... Well, today i am home with the girls. I must say so far it is going according to plan. Abby watched her morning show and I got to finish my morning coffee. Upon my last gulp Abby announced that "it is time to go outside." So we did! Of course I took my camera along....

We played with the dogs.

Then I found something really gross... Rhymes with BAT! I am pretty sure that Watson caught it the other night and tried to bury it... So i took out the shovel and wrapped it in a plastic bag and got rid of it before Abby saw it.

Then Abby learned about something today (something that her mommy doesn't like at all). WORMS!!! It was raining in Maryland on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. So of course the worms are out. Abby wanted to find as many as she could. I would get out the shovel and ask where the worms were. She would point with her foot and I would dig, pull out worms, she would pick them up and put them in her bowl. We had a great time!

(his name is wormy)

When it was time to come in, she took a quick bath to clean up and i made some Mac and Cheese. Only I forgot to take the lid off and the mac exploded in the MICROWAVE! No big deal! Just another mess to clean up.

Well, we are off to the park when she wakes from her nap! Today is a great day!
