Something NEW

Like A Tree hanging onto it's dried and dead leaves
I am afraid to let go...

I am afraid to be like the naked tree in the January winds
The wind whips and tears away all that is dead and gone...

You are faithful to remind me again and again that you make all things new
First I must let go of the dead and gone...

Please send out the dove with a symbol of your grace
Let Him find my heart ready for all that is new...

This was a piece that I have been thinking about lately. I think because of the rapidly approaching new year, I am getting excited for the new year and all that God will do. Thanks for Reading!

At the Fess's

So on the 26th of December my wife's (Rebecca) side of the family has a tradition that we do every year. We always go to the Fess's. Here we exchange gifts, celebrate my daughter's (Abby and next year Madi) birthday, we have good food, laughs and altogether wonderful time. One of the biggest reason why I love to go is Jim(pictured below). I have learned so much from him. He takes care of his family (wife and 2 sons), I can honestly say that I don't recall a time when he raised his voice, and yet his sons know who is in charge. I can't recall him losing patience (at least not in public) with even the hardest family members. Yet he loves to tease and shows love in a masculine way. In some many ways He reminds me of of how God deals with me. Of course I am not saying Jim is perfect in any stretch of the imagination, but I have learned many parenting skills from watching Jim Fess. (I haven't ever told him this... I guess I should)
Enjoy the pictures... and thanks for reading

ps. Another reason why i love going to the Fess' is because of their amazing house. Lots of land and a fire place inside!

Moms everywhere!

So lately I have been more tired than usual. I have been trying to figure out why? I realized that since the birth of Madilyn, Rebecca has needed me to help out more with Abby. So I have been chasing Abby around every night getting her ready for bed and all that goes with it. I have spend more time chasing and laughing with Abby then just about anything else. Of course I love the extra time that I have been able to spend with Abby. I just never realized everything that my wife did! So I guess you could say that I have found a new appreciation for my wife and all she does for my family.

NOW I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE ALL SHE DOES WITH MADI!!!
Thanks for reading and please if you can, tell your mom (& wife of any children) thanks today... They deserves it!

Christmas... What a wonderful season...

So here are a few reasons why I love Christmas...

1. You get to decorate a tree!
2. Giving and Receiving gifts

3. Friends and Family
(everyone is nicer, because you know who is keeping a list)

4. Office Parties!!!!
(Which always involves great food and bonuses)

5. It was my dad's favorite time of year...
(I remember he would dress up like Santa every year and I always believed it was really Santa!!!) I believe in the Santa in the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe not today's commercialized one...

6. And Now I have two gifts from Heaven that came around Christmas...

7. Of Course because the greatest gift was given over 2000 years ago...
