Dog Days of January & February!!!!

I hate this time of year...
I am cold... There is less sunshine... When I lived in Buffalo it snowed almost everyday!
I am realizing more and more that I love spring and summer. Sure there is more work to do outside, and yes it rains a lot in the spring, but I am not sure that I can take much more of everything being "dead" and brown... I need some green, spring training, and sun in my life!
So I am trying not to get too excited about March... But then I am able to go to a World Baseball Classic game and at the end of March my family and I are going to visit two very special people in Florida!
These photos were taking the last time we were there:

So I am glad that January is almost over and February is a short month! Hope everyone stays warm. Thanks for Reading

Watson... Man's best friend????

Well, a couple of nights ago Watson was not my wife's best friend!!! Let me do a little set up for you...

On most nights Watson ends up on our bed (mostly at my feet). He will start the night sleeping on the floor but because I am such a heavy sleeper, he will jump up on the bed at some point in the night. He also won't get out of bed in the morning until I wake up... He really does enjoy sleeping in the morning.

So the other night the story goes like this:

It all started around 6:30 am on thursday... My wife had enough of being crowded on the bed, so she decided since Coco is an unmovable object while sleeping, that Watson had to go. So Rebecca kicked Watson off the bed and he protested like usual. He wandered around the bed looking for a place where he could curl up... Rebecca, said "lay down and go to sleep". Well, instead he went across the hall into Madi's room. He walked over where Madilyn was sleeping and nudged her swing with his nose. Of course Madilyn woke up and started to cry... Rebecca got up to get Madilyn and realized that Watson was coming out Madilyn's room very proud of himself... Almost with his nose stuck up in the air and waging his tail. While Rebecca started to take care of Madilyn; Watson took her spot of the bed and curled up next to me and went to sleep... He is such a smart dog!

Getting it right....

I am not a boastful person but the other night "I got it right".
The story starts about 12 days ago... My family and I went over to a good friend's house (Megan) for dinner and dessert. Well, while we were there, Abby noticed some flowers that Jamie (Megan's boyfriend) had gotten for Megan. Before we left Megan told Abby she could have some of the flowers and take them home. You would have thought that Megan gave her a million dollars... Abby carried those flowers all the way home and put them into a vase as soon as we walked in the door.
So a week ago, before I came home from work, I thought I would get some flowers for Rebecca and for the first time I got Abby some flowers... She LOVES THEM!!!! Below are some of the photos that I took!

Of course now in a couple of years I will be buying flowers for three people... Yikes this could get expensive!

Abby's website????

So I don't know what the address is or anything like that, but my oldest daughter has a website... At least that is what she told me last night when she sat in Rebecca's desk chair. She said "I have to check my website" She told me that her website has 'dinos', 'Lions,' 'Baby Jaguars and Elephants... I will let you know what the website is called once Abby tells me!
Here are some photos

I have to say - she is just the cutest!

Once upon a visit from Oma and Opa!

So today during my lunch break I went to take some photos... I drove all over Pikesville, MD (where I work). I wanted to get some new pictures and try out my new lens. However nothing jumped out at me and said "take a picture."So on my way back to work I realized that I didn't write about some very important people in Abby's life (mine too). Rebecca's parents came to Baltimore this past weekend. Here is a brief recap of all that happened: "Oma, you read me this book?" (Sam and Sofie) "Oma, you make Dinosaurs with me?" Abby really had a great time making playdoh dinos. (see pictures below)

Actually, we went to the Baltimore Science Museum and looked at the Dinos, played in the kids area, some of us played more than others...

We also watched the Ravens lose to the Steelers (but that's for another post).

Then yesterday when Abby was dancing around and wanted wrestle with me, a memory came to my mind. When I was little I used to love wrestling with my dad. (I think that it is my favorite memory of my dad). I started to tear up when I thought that Opa is the only grandfather that my girls will ever know! But God quickly opened my eyes to something. He said "stop worrying about the 'might have been' and watch the 'here and now'." So this weekend I saw a genuine love going back and forth from Oma, Opa and Abby... I loved to watch Rebecca’s parents interact with Abby and Madilyn. I probably would have missed that if I got stuck in the "what might have been".

Also, my dad's getting his time with Jesus and Jesus is getting time with my dad. They might not be wrestling but they definitely are laughing and having fun!

Do you have favorite memory of your parents to share???

Ps. Now I get to have more time wrestling with Abby… Which we did after they left cause my living room isn’t very big for wresting with lots of people in my house.
Below are some more photos from our weekend!

Cold Weather is for the birds...

So I pulled up my usual spot today in order to take some new shots of some geese and ducks...

When I turned my car off, rolled down my window to get this picture (and not scare away the bird) suddenly I am surrounded by flying rats (seagulls)... Now I don't really like seagulls because I don't like getting pooped on. Also they are probably natures' biggest beggars. They make me think of the movie Finding Nemo... "Mine, MINE, MINE!!!" Of course I shortly realized that some people don't share my lack of affection for seagulls... At least this lady made for some cool pictures.

Anyway, here are some shots from my new lens and I love it!!!
